- K-Pop Sensation Blackpink Shines as First-Ever K-Pop Headliner at Coachella 목차
South Korean girl group Blackpink has once again made history, this time as the first K-Pop act to headline the prestigious Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, on April 16th.
The group took the stage wearing harmonious black and pink outfits, kicking off their performance with the track "Pink Venom." The audience reciprocated with roaring cheers and applause. Blackpink continued to heat up the atmosphere with hit songs such as "Kill This Love," "How You Like That," and "Pretty Savage," captivating the audience with their intense choreography and unwavering live vocals.
Local fans sang along to the songs and waved Blackpink's official lightstick to show their support. South Korean flags could also be spotted near the front row seats.
After the group performances, each member showcased their individual charms through solo stages. Jennie performed an unreleased track, "You & Me," displaying perfect harmony with her dancers. Jisoo followed with a performance of "꽃," released last month, highlighting the beauty of Korean aesthetics. Rosé enchanted the audience with her melodic vocals in "On The Ground," while Lisa captivated fans with her performance of "MONEY."
Returning to the stage in all-black outfits, Blackpink continued to fill the venue with energy as they performed songs such as "BOOMBAYAH," "Lovesick Girls," "불장난," "Typa Girl," and "Shut Down."
Coachella, which first took place in 1999, is a world-renowned music festival known for its tradition and prestige. Each year, around 300,000 attendees gather to celebrate not only music but also fashion and lifestyle trends.
This marks Blackpink's second appearance at Coachella. In 2019, they became the first K-pop female act to perform as a sub-headliner, and four years later, they returned as headliners. This achievement solidifies their place in history as the first K-pop act to headline the festival.
In addition, Blackpink is set to become the first K-pop act to headline the Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival in the United Kingdom in July.
