- SHINee Members Complete Military Service, Prepare for Long-Awaited Comeback 목차
SHINee's Taemin has successfully completed his military service, with the entire group now gearing up for a much-anticipated full comeback in May. Taemin was discharged on April 4th after finishing his social worker duty, marking the end of the group's military enlistment period.
The talented performer began his military service on May 31, 2021, receiving basic military training before joining the army band. However, due to a worsening depression and panic disorder, Taemin was eventually reassigned to a supplementary role, garnering widespread attention and concern from fans.
SM Entertainment, the group's agency, confirmed that Taemin has been receiving treatment and counseling throughout his service to help manage his mental health challenges. "Taemin has been receiving treatment and counseling continuously while serving in the military due to symptoms of depression and panic disorder that he has suffered from before. According to the measures, he was transferred to a supplementary role," the agency stated.
Taemin continued his service as part of the military band of the Ministry of National Defense Service Support Group since January 14, 2022. With his discharge, all SHINee members have now completed their military service, including Onew and Key, who are currently serving in the army, and Minho, who is serving in the Marine Corps.
Fans of SHINee are eagerly awaiting the group's full return to the stage, with a planned comeback in May. Further details about their upcoming activities and releases are expected to be announced soon, as the group reunites and begins a new chapter in their illustrious career.
