South Korean actor Song Joong-ki celebrates his first-ever entry to the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival with his latest movie "HOPELESS" This marks a significant milestone in his career, which spans over 15 years. The film has been officially invited to the "Notable Gaze" section of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival, set to begin on May 16th.

"HOPELESS" is a noir drama that tells the story of Yeon-kyu, a young man desperate to escape his nightmarish reality, who ends up in a dangerous world after meeting Chi-gun, the boss of an organization. The film is produced by Man Pictures, known for hits such as "New World," "The Shameless," "Asura," and "Hunt."

 

The "Notable Gaze" section, where "Hwaran" is featured, is dedicated to showcasing the works of talented young directors and aesthetically outstanding films. Previous entries in this section include director Bong Joon-ho's "Mother" (2009) and Hong-jin Na's "The Yellow Sea" (2010). Director Kim Chang-hoon of "Hwaran" has also been officially invited to the Cannes International Film Festival for his first feature film debut, raising anticipation for the movie.
