- Suga of BTS Unveils Powerful Music Video for "Amygdala" 목차
South Korean musician and BTS member Suga, also known by his solo stage name Agust D, has released an introspective music video for "Amygdala," a b-side track from his solo album "D-DAY." The video premiered on April 25th on Hive Labels' official YouTube channel.
"Amygdala" refers to the almond-shaped part of the brain that plays a crucial role in processing emotions, motivation, fear, and anxiety. The music video for "Amygdala" takes viewers on a journey through Suga's personal traumas as he navigates various versions of himself and confronts the memories and emotions tied to a car accident.
The video begins with Suga falling asleep alone in a dark room, only to be jolted awake by a vivid recollection of a motorcycle accident. As he tries to leave the room, he encounters different versions of himself, reflecting various aspects of his psyche. Each iteration of Suga grapples with the trauma of the accident, leading up to a tense climax where one version attempts to rescue the others but is thwarted by a locked door.
In a symbolic gesture, Suga consumes almonds, representing the amygdala, in an effort to resist the consuming grip of his memories and trauma. The visually stunning video gives fans a glimpse into the artist's struggle to heal from his past and move forward.
Suga is set to embark on a world tour, beginning with two shows at Belmont Park on April 26th and 27th. The tour will take him to Newark, Rosemont, Los Angeles, Auckland, various locations in the United States, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and ultimately, Seoul.
