The popular Korean drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' is set to challenge the International Emmy Award this year. According to the broadcaster, the 16-episode ENA drama, which concluded last August, has been submitted for consideration at the 51st International Emmy Awards taking place in New York on November 20.

The drama has received remake proposals from over ten countries, including the United States, Japan, China, Turkey, the Philippines, and Germany. Discussions are currently underway to finalize the details.
Established in 1973, the International Emmy Awards is an international TV program awards ceremony that aims to introduce excellent foreign programs to American viewers. It is separate from the Primetime Emmy Awards, often referred to as the Academy Awards of the broadcasting industry.
Last year, KBS drama 'Yeonmo' starring Park Eun-bin made history as the first Korean drama to win in the 'Tele Novella' category at the International Emmy Awards.
