TVing, an online video service platform, has joined forces with Paramount+ in a strategic partnership to produce original content targeting audiences worldwide. They have chosen two original series, "The Day of Misfortune" and "Queen Wu," to kick off their collaboration. These series will be released in 27 countries where Paramount+ is available.

"The Day of Misfortune," based on a well-liked webtoon, is a thriller series penned by Kim Min-seong and Song Hanna and directed by Phil Gam-seong. The plot involves an unsuspecting taxi driver who learns that his long-distance client is a serial killer. Production for the series will commence soon.

"Queen Wu," TVing's inaugural historical drama series, is written by Lee Byung-hak and directed by Jeong Se-gyo. It chronicles the power struggle among princes vying for the throne following the sudden death of the king, and Queen Wu, who is targeted by five tribes seeking to seize power within 24 hours. The action-packed series is set to debut in 2024.

 

Hwang Hye-jeong, TVing's Chief Content Officer, is thrilled about the partnership. She highlighted that various original series from TVing have been competing in global awards ceremonies, both in Korea and abroad.
