- Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5: Bigger Screen and Better Battery Set to Dominate Foldable Market 목차
Samsung Electronics is set to revolutionize the foldable phone market with significant upgrades to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, aiming for a global box office hit. Slated for release in the second half of this year, the latest addition to the Galaxy Z series will feature a larger front screen and improved battery performance.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5's external screen will be increased from 1.9 inches to 3.4 inches, filling the entire front part except for the camera. This larger display will provide users with a wider range of functions and improved usability. To counter the increased battery consumption associated with the larger screen, Samsung has boosted the battery capacity and implemented ultra-power-saving technology, ensuring a longer usage time for the Flip 5.
Samsung's previous upgrade from the Flip 3 to Flip 4 involved expanding the battery capacity from 3300mAh to 3700mAh. By further enhancing battery technology for the Flip 5, the company aims to establish a clear advantage over Chinese competitors in the foldable phone market.
Another innovation involves the application of a 'droplet hinge' instead of the existing U-shaped hinge, which will minimize wrinkles where the phone folds and provide a smoother display experience.
Samsung Electronics plans to hold its unpacked event up to two weeks earlier than last year, moving it to the end of July. This strategic decision is intended to maximize third-quarter performance, increase initial sales, and widen the time lag from the release of the iPhone 15, scheduled for September.
